Not everyone can donate time to QPSRAPP by volunteering to adopt, transport, or foster. QPSRAPP understands this. Monetary donations, no matter how small, can make all the difference to Quakers who need placement in new homes.

The Quaker Parakeet Rescue and Placement Program is a "free" service offered to owners of Quaker Parakeets who can no longer care for their bird(s) for any variety of reasons. No fees are charged to relinquishing owner or adopting volunteer. RAPP Volunteers, Committee members and Chair are all volunteer positions. QPSRAPP does not have a holding facility, relying on temporary fostering volunteers, or immediate and direct placement with adopting volunteers.

But, as with any successful program, there are hidden costs and your generousity will help RAPP meet the cost of mailings, publication of RAPP and educational literature, and occassional veterinary expenses occured in placement and rescue.

Since QPSRAPP was formed in 1999 by the Quaker Parakeet Society, (a 501(c), non profit organization), hundreds of Quakers have been placed in new, loving homes, with adopting RAPP volunteers. Transportation chains have been activated to relocate Quakers who have found themselves behind the borders of states where Quakers are illegal to own. Temporary fostering volunteers open their homes to Quakers whose owners have experienced life changing situations, until owner and avian companion can be re-united.
