We are eagerly awaiting a few more of QPS' non feathered friends photographs. In the meantime, meet Wozzo and her reflextion! Wozzo and her pal Wishbone are the Quaker brains behind THE SENTINEL'S "Ask Wozzo and Wishbone" Q&A section.Cathy Warren is their human companion and SENTINEL contributing author. Cathy feels "QPS plays a major role in educating Quaker owners and the general public about Quakers, by providing information sometimes not available from any other source." Cathy has three favorite things about Quakers: "their attitude, their attitude, and their attitude! They have so much personality, it's impossible not to love them!"
The very pretty blue Quaker on the left is Kaylee. Kaylee lives with Shelly Lane, who created the Quaker Parakeet Discussion List. The QPList began with a handful of subscribers. Today, hundreds of Quaker owners and potential owners reap the benefits and contribute to the support and education the QPList offers. What Shelly enjoys "most about Quakers is that they have a whole lot of personality for such a small bird. They somehow manage to be sweet and sassy at the same time, and I love that about them. Life is never boring with a Quaker in the house!" Shelly thinks "having an organization like QPS is essential, especially when you consider that there is much misinformation about Quakers that still exists. I also believe that QPS' Rescue and Placement Program (RAPP) is an incredibly worthwhile program." Shelly has been assisting QPS with the QPList once again.
Dr. Patricia Anderson is the only brave soul among us! She has included a picture of herself holding her Quaker Friend, Beaker. Pat helps QPS in the QPSERC, (education and research, gathering the lastest information on Quakers in the news. Pat feels "The Quaker Parakeet Society is important because it provides reliable information to make the lives of companion Quakers and their humans better. Also, it is important to support QPS because they are working to prevent conflict between humans and feral Quaker populations, so that lethal control is no longer an option." She likes Quakers "because they are incredibly intelligent and each one has an amazing and unique personality. I adopted my first Quaker sight unseen and he stole my heart!"
